Tasks of Addiction Recovery

The Discovery Starts With You

An addict’s days are often confusing, hopeless, and an emotional roller coaster.

Having untreated obsessive thoughts and out of control behaviors darkens everything worthwhile in life – especially relationships with family and friends.

It’s impossible to be truly present and mindful of the gifts that life offers when a person is trapped in the addictive cycle.

Don’t be discouraged – the recovery process works.

Now is the Time for a New Journey to Recovery

The 30-task model developed by Patrick Carnes was developed when he asked recovering addicts: “In your recovery, besides the 12 steps, what have you done to build a life worth living?”

In training, Patrick gave me this gift to use in my recovery and pass on to you.

It’s truly a gift to an addict who is “out of options.” This is exciting because nothing like this has been done before.

These questions were never asked, data was never taken and analyzed, and tasks have never been developed so specific to the recovery experiences of addicts in a model for therapy.

These tasks are in a series of workbooks that I work with in individual and group therapy.
