Find Your “True Self”

All humans learn to cope with struggles, in unhealthy and healthy ways, in childhood and adolescence.

Life is full of experiences that can result in painful feelings of sadness, loneliness, and despair.

It’s essential to trace the origin of the painful feelings – especially when they start an addictive cycle, so that we can understand how compulsive behaviors cause current problems.

If we have learned to “shut down,” medicate pain with substances or other behaviors, we need help to find “a way out.”

No One Wants to Suffer

Reaching out challenges our egos and sense of self-worth. We may feel like a burden.

The truth, as I see it, is you are a gift to me, and I am honored to be on your team.

When you begin therapy, an exciting journey begins to face reality “head on” and experience life without traumatic activation from past experiences or the misery of being in an addictive cycle.

Don’t Suffer, Find Healing

Runner Haruki Murakami said, “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.”

With trauma and addiction therapy, my clients connect to new beliefs. They move past “old stuff,” and reconnect to their true selves.

The techniques I use, and my support in your own self-determination and self-care, will aid in healing. By walking through the “chores” of therapy, you’ll learn how to change.

We Work as a Team

We’ll identify all of the current issues, form a plan to “stop the bleeding,” and begin building a community of support.

We’ll use the “task model” to dig deep and identify traumas to process and resolve.

As time goes on, the “true self” emerges, and you can focus, enjoy every moment, and experience true integrity and love.

I’m truly humbled and blessed to be a guide to a new life for a new you.

To land in my space, and for me to enter your world, is a true experience of intimacy: “into me you see.”

I know that people don’t come to therapy on a “winning streak.”

I will support you in your journey and encourage use of tools, both cognitive and spiritual, to heal.

Regardless of your spiritual background, I work with all clients to find their truth.

Life is to be celebrated, not endured.

Meet George

Hi. I’m here to serve you and be a fair witness to your process.

I dreamed of being “Dr. Freud” ever since I was a little boy, and I can tell you that dreams do come true.

I’m truly fascinated by people and humbly approach my work with a sense of awe and wonder.

I’m a believer in this process. I’ve invested a lot of time and energy to do what I do well. I’m always learning and changing (included doing my own work).

My clients enjoy working with me in my office space: think about pictures you’ve seen of Dr. Freud and his couch (with lots of eye candy).

I know therapy works, because I’ve had “shifts” happen, and I’m a student of life (always learning).

I also live a recovering lifestyle. I’ve worked hard to have a life worth living for 24 years now.

I welcome you to this site and look forward to doing whatever I can to help you.
